The Winneconne high school ice fishing team won this years WIFA state ice fishing championship which was held on the Wisconsin River and adjoining flowages between Wausau and Stevens Point.

Owen Steger, a senior at Mayville high school, caught the biggest northern pike in this year's WIFA state ice fishing championship.

There were 920 kids representing 92 schools and about 300 coaches/team helpers in this year's WIFA state high school ice fishing championship.
